A note from the studio
A small guide to gifting Rue Des Arts
An auto on a Chennai street, a spice market in Kochi, a notebook waiting for its first line: these are the details I return to when I paint. Rue Des Arts turns them into small gifts to send, use and keep. Start with the place or habit that sounds like your person.
By Aishwarya Ashok, artist and founder of Rue Des Arts
What can I give someone who misses Chennai?
Choose the part of the city they would recognise first. Vanakkam Madras gathers familiar street-side rituals into an A6 postcard; People of Marina Beach holds the busy coast in an A5 print; a small clay auto can live on their fridge. Each begins with my artwork.
What if their favourite place is somewhere else?
There are street scenes, coastlines and everyday details from Kochi, Goa, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Hampi and Spiti too. A piece tied to a place they know will mean more than a generic travel souvenir.
What is a thoughtful art gift under ₹500?
A bookmark, illustrated notes, an art print or a clay magnet can feel considered without being a large purchase. The prices below are for the items; delivery is added at checkout, so the final order total may be over ₹500.
- Pink Bougainvillea2 x 6 inch · Double-sided art bookmark₹130
- Illustrated Idea Notes — Old World Charm3 × 3 inches · 5 illustrated designs · Loose sheets, no adhesive · Choose 30 or 50 notesFrom ₹250
- Sweet KaaramA5 · 300gsm Poster Paper Card₹380
- Madras - DosaiTextured & hand-crafted clay · Madras-inspired artwork · Little keepsake for fridges & memory boards₹450
What can I give someone who likes to write or read?
An A5 notebook has room for longer thoughts, a hand-printed lino notebook feels good in the hand, and a double-sided bookmark can travel with the book they are already reading.
What suits someone who likes to make things?
The colouring cards leave the finishing colour to them. Illustrated Idea Notes give small thoughts, sketches and reminders a place to land. These are gifts they can take part in, rather than only look at.
- Colouring Cards - Set 1 - TravelA7 · 300gsm Card · Set of outline cards ready for colouring₹350
- Colouring Cards - Set 2 - FloralsA7 · 300gsm Card · Set of outline cards ready for colouring₹350

What is a useful gift for someone who travels?
A travel tag makes a bag easy to recognise while keeping a favourite place close. A postcard is a lighter way to mark a journey or tell someone you are thinking of them.
Can I make a gift from more than one piece?
Yes. The bundle builder lets you choose the artwork for each part of a postcard pair, notebook-and-postcard gift, lino notebook duo or larger studio selection. The combination and item price are shown before you choose the designs.
Can you send a handwritten postcard for me?
Yes. Choose the artwork, type your message and add an address in India. I handwrite the note and post it. Allow 4–5 working days for processing before dispatch; the delivery fee depends on the destination and number of cards.
